Geraldton Has Become Home to the First Regional Housing Project for People with Disabilities.
Geraldton has become home to the first regional housing project for people with disabilities. Six new state-of-the-art homes have been custom-made to give residents with a disability more independence. The homes include a video intercom system, wider doors and hallways for wheelchair access, adjustable benchtops and more. The project is a collaboration between Activ, Community Housing, WAI Group and Campbell Homes. There are now plans to expand the all-purpose housing into other regions, such as Bunbury and Albany.
Grabs: WA Minister for Disability Services Don Punch, who says it means that people live in their communities and that’s the most important thing. If you’ve grown up in a community that you love and you want to be there, you shouldn’t have to move because of a disability.
