Paul Stanley of WAI Group was proud to join St Patrick’s Community Support Centre, senior government representatives and project partners last week to mark the official sod turning for the Alata Lane project.

This significant project will deliver 26 townhouses for St Patrick’s, creating more secure, well-designed homes for people and households needing access to long-term affordable housing in a highly connected location.
Alata Lane represents WAI Group’s first HAFF-funded project and an important milestone in the continued growth of our affordable and social housing pipeline in WA.
The ceremony was attended by a distinguished group of government, community and industry leaders, including the Hon Roger Cook MLA, Premier of Western Australia and Member for Kwinana; the Hon Madeleine King MP, Federal Minister for Resources and Minister for Northern Australia; and the Hon John Carey MLA, WA Minister for Planning and Lands; Housing and Works; and Health Infrastructure.
They were joined by John Hartman, Chief Executive Officer of Minderoo Foundation, Michael Piu - Chief Executive Officer of St Patrick’s Community Support Centre, representatives from the Department of Housing and Works, and delivery partners WAI Group/G Living – Paul Stanley and Gianpaolo Crugnale.

Representatives from St Patrick’s Community Support Centre, government, Minderoo Foundation and project delivery partners mark the official sod turning at Alata Lane, Kwinana.
Paul Stanley, Managing Director of WAI Group, said the occasion highlighted the importance of collaboration in responding to the growing need for safe, affordable homes across Western Australia.
“It was fantastic to see the importance placed on projects like this, and to have so many committed people in one place. We now have 16 projects underway, and every one of them relies on the relationships between government, community housing providers, support organisations, development partners and the wider community.”
“Alata Lane is about much more than delivering homes. It is about creating a place where people can feel secure, connected and part of their local community.”
Over the next 12 months, WAI Group, G Living and Fortitude Living will work closely with St Patrick’s Community Support Centre and project partners to bring Alata Lane to life.
Once complete, the project will provide much-needed affordable housing in Kwinana, supporting greater housing choice, stability and connection for local residents while contributing to a stronger and more inclusive community.
